The Scarborough Football Scholarship’s new Under-23s team have joined a new league for the 2020-21 campaign.
The Scholars, linked with the SFS International students, will be entering the National Football Youth League, which will see them coming up against teams from Premier League clubs Everton, Crystal Palace and Leeds United.
Also in the Scholars’ division will be Barnsley, Bromley, Hartley Wintley and Tranmere Rovers.
Head coach Ryan Blott said: “It is another huge development for the scholarship and another way for the players to push themselves against strong opposition.
“The last thing you need is for your players not to be tested, so coming up against teams of this calibre will ensure that their progression sets them in good stead for their futures.”
