Scarborough Athletic captain Michael Coulson has joined the Scarborough Football Scholarship.
Coulson, who has had a distinguished career in the game, having played in the Championship and the Scottish Premier League, will take up coaching duties on the pitch, as well as playing his part in the classroom.
Along with Boro coach Ryan Blott, the hugely experienced Denny Ingram goalkeeper coach Andy Phillips and Scholarship director Steve Brennan, Coulson is keen to push young footballers from the town forward, both on and off the pitch.
He said: “Having come through the youth set-up at Scarborough FC myself, I know that it is so important for the town that we have a conveyor belt of young players progressing through to the first team.
“I am really looking forward to getting going in this role, helping young footballers both on the pitch and in their education.”
